Jokowi will deliver a speech to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence. In addition, the President will submit a Financial Note and the 2021 State Budget Bill (RAPBN) from 14.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB. The joint session of the DPR and DPD, as well as President Jokowi’s state speech, will be held more modestly than in previous years. This is considering the outbreak of the corona virus in Indonesia.
Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said the annual session and state speech would be shortened because it was held during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, Dasco considers that this does not diminish the meaning of the MPR annual session.

“Because there is the Covid-19 protocol, there are simplifications of some protocols, but I think that doesn’t detract from the meaning of the event,” said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, August 13, 2020. This year’s annual session and state address will be held under strict health protocols. Not all legislators, ministers and national figures can physically attend. Some DPR members until the invitation will attend virtually.
