Factors Causing Divorce
With this number, Abdul Rojak estimates that the divorce rate will increase by 10 percent. “It increased because previously in one year in normal times there could have been 3,000-2,500 cases of divorce. Maybe it could be because this pandemic could be over 3,000 or in the same number of 2,500 to 3,000,” said Abdul Rojak.
Rojak said, there are various reasons that make a married couple decide to separate. Among them because of economic problems, weak family resilience, the three factors of religion. “Weak faith, weak piety, and weak religious strongholds, so easily give up. Of the three factors the most visible to the surface are economic factors. Due to the difficult economy, many spouses divorce,” said Abdul Rojak.

Tangsel Ministry of Religion is limited to providing recommendations. Before being given a recommendation, the Tangsel Ministry of Religion advised couples to keep their marriage. “Divorce occurs in the religious court, if we only provide recommendations if it is considered that the couple is not defensible. But there are also couples who go directly to the religious court without going through the recommendation of the Ministry of Religion, so in nature we are only mentoring,” he said.
